This question was one of the most frequently asked questions we received when we took our start-up friends in 6 months and deployed Path+, which turned them into a “good” Fullstack Web Deeveloper. I wanted to write today's post for our friends who have similar questions and need information and guidance. How happy we are if it can be of use to us. What kind of roadmap should our friends in this situation draw, let's see together!
The need for programmers in the world is growing every year. In 2018, there were 23 million programmers worldwide, bringing the number to 29 million by the end of 2024 [1] Expected to arrive. In the past, companies met the needs of programmers with people who graduated from departments such as computer engineering or software engineering. They recruited graduates of this department and subjected them to in-house training. However, in recent years, especially with changes in the balance of supply and demand, graduates of these departments have become unable to fully meet the talent needs of companies.
To meet this need, alternative training methods such as bootcamps have gained popularity. Bootcamps provide participants with mastery in software with an intensive schedule in a short period of time. This solution, which became popular in America in the 2010s, soon spread all over the world.
Patika.dev has opened over 250 programs since its inception in 2021, putting over 2400 bootcamp graduates into work. This success story proves how effective alternative education methods can be in Turkey. Due to the positive perception created by Patika.dev graduates in the sector, taboos such as the school and department where the candidate graduated were destroyed in many companies.
Patika.dev's solutions are divided into 2 classes: 6-7-week bootcamps with a partner company and 6-month Patika+ bootcamps.
In our partner company bootcamps, we take candidates with a certain technical knowledge and graduate them after 6-7 weeks of intensive training, adding the skills needed by the business world. With these bootcamps, we create solutions for our candidates who are able to pass the technical exam (we also look at coding knowledge) at the beginning of the program but do not have the technical knowledge to enter the job. For our candidates at the starting point, the Path+solution comes into play. You don't have to have coding knowledge to be accepted to Path+, we take you from scratch and graduate as a “good” Fullstack Web Developer.
When creating Pathway+, we had intensive discussions with HR and IT teams of partner companies with whom we have previously collaborated (comments are very important as many of our graduates will be hired in these companies), students and instructors. We listened to the needs of the industry to create the most effective training model.
And then there was the Pathway+ program, which adds the most sought-after talents in the industry to its students, where our students receive a very intensive training, but also acquire a culture of learning and contributing to each other (it was one of the “good developer” characteristics we received intensively from employers).
Path+ has been a program intertwined with the industry. The workshops held every week are attended by experts from the sector, who also transfer practical applications of theoretical knowledge in the sector to our students. Softskill trainings, on the other hand, are both one of the strongest supporters of the job search process and, after employment, they add important skills to our students for positive differentiation in the companies where they work.
Feedback from the first class of Patika+ also makes us feel that we are doing the right job. The satisfaction rate is 4.7/5.0 and this rate is great for bootcamps.
Also to videos in which our students in the first class of Patika+ share their experiences from there you can reach.
If you say, “I want to be a programmer too, but I don't know where to start” or “I've tried to get ahead on my own, but I'm stuck, I wish there was someone around me to support me,” Trails+I advise you to apply. A friend from the Patika.dev team will contact you, understand you and your needs and try to make the right orientation.
