Vue.js vs React

Vue.js and React are JavaScript based toolkit systems. They help create dynamic user interfaces, and each change leads to new functionality. These functions refresh specific page blocks, often known as UI components. In Vue.js and React, components are pieces of JavaScript and HTML code that are edited in a single file. Components have similar hierarchical principles with parents and children, who can transmit data to each other.

To find the distinguishing features between React and Vue.js we must take into account the following criteria:

It is worth noting that React can not be called a framework. Although it is a JavaScript library, it is suitable for creating the entire appearance part of the web application.

Component Creation Policies in React and Vue.js

JSX and single-file component structure in React

Components process data in web browsers. They contain the UI section that is shown to a user (HTML) and logic (JavaScript). Logic describes the functions and methods for transmitting data in the browser.

React uses JavaScript Syntax Extension (JSX), a syntax language that helps write functions corresponding to native browser methods. Safari, Chrome and Firefox are all based on JavaScript engines that can talk directly to logic functions written in React. Since JavaScript code is enriched with HTML tags, it cannot be recognized by a web browser. React converts programming code to Javascript-only using Babel Transpiler.

JSX allows to return HTML in JavaScript or it can be executed in HTML. In addition, JavaScript variables can be assigned with HTML tags such as:

const message = <h1>React is cool!</h1>

Dynamic variables can be placed in the parenthesis syntax ({...}) in the middle of JSX.

Vue.js follows HTML templates for component design.

Vue.js, which is the same as React, suggests keeping the user interface and logic in the same file. The component code in Vue.js is located in a specific HTML template.

The templating brings a clear view of the component code. It helps programmers follow methods, view features, and observe rendering functions.

Vue.js has a specific syntax. Uses {{}} as a placeholder for data. HTML attributes are the instructions in Vue.js and include the v- prefix.

The system of the framework includes objects, classes and categories of behavior. It is compatible with the experience of programmers working with object-oriented programming.

Brief Sector Comparison of React vs Vue.js

React

React is flexible and open to a variety of options. It does not imply any visionary direction or mindset for development. However, this approach has a cost, as developers must have a strong knowledge of JavaScript and be experienced in designing single page applications (SPAs).

Vue.js vs React

Bu blog yazımızda Vue.js ve React'ı karşılaştırıyoruz.

Components have similar hierarchical principles with parents and children, who can transmit data to each other.

To find the distinguishing features between React and Vue.js we must take into account the following criteria:

  • How to create components with React and Vue.js
  • How the components communicate with each other
  • How components affect browser DOM

It is worth noting that React can not be called a framework. Although it is a JavaScript library, it is suitable for creating the entire appearance part of the web application.

React

React is flexible and open to a variety of options. It does not imply any visionary direction or mindset for development. However, this approach has a cost, as developers must have a strong knowledge of JavaScript and be experienced in designing single page applications (SPAs).

Pros of React

  • Fast client-side creation,
  • Good control of data flow,
  • Lightweight architecture,
  • Extensibility and scalability,
  • Great community support.

Cons of React

  • The steep learning curve,
  • Not working without other libraries and services, such as redux, forwarding, etc.,
  • Unstructured code, spaghetti and the possibility of getting to the boiler plate.

Which companies should choose React

  • Early stage startups that need rapid feature development and validation campaigns in the market,
  • Companies that want to outsource their development,
  • Product-based companies will also need cross-platform application development (React Native is based on React technology, which would be a good fit).

Vue.js

Vue.js combines the top level features of React and Angular, its main feature is excellent user experience. In addition, it has taken advantage of the capacity of the virtual DOM and optimized the code structure.

Pros of Vue.js

  • Developer friendly framework,
  • Unusual performance,
  • Well structured code,
  • Elegant language syntax,
  • Good user documentation.

Cons of Vue.js

  • Lack of experienced developers,
  • Small community,
  • Most of the documents are available only in Chinese.

Which companies should choose Vue.js:

  • Companies approaching the market of web-based products,
  • Companies that want to implement a single flow in their development processes,
  • Companies that have no previous experience in using frameworks in their creation processes or want to leverage their proficiency in JavaScript.
